Q. Are there PriceControl product options?

A. Yes. FirstEnergy Solutions has a 7-year and 4-year offer.

Q. Will everything work the same when I switch?

A. Yes. That’s because FirstEnergy Solutions supplies your power through existing wires. So you’ll have the same reliable service you have today from your utility.

Q. Who do I call if I have trouble with my service or if my power goes out?

A. Your local electric utility will still be responsible for the delivery of power to you. Since your local electric utility still owns the wires and poles that deliver power to you, they will continue to read your meter and restore power after an outage.

Q. How will I know if I was successfully enrolled with FirstEnergy Solutions?

A. After you enroll, you will receive a letter from your electric utility confirming that you selected FirstEnergy Solutions as your electric generation supplier.

Q. Once I enroll with FirstEnergy Solutions, what happens next?

A. FirstEnergy Solutions will contact your electric company and notify them of the change. Soon after, your electric company will send you a letter to confirm that you selected FirstEnergy Solutions to be your electric generation supplier.

Q. Will I need a service call?

A. No. You simply need to enroll.

Q. What happens if I move before the contract is over?

A. If you move, your contract simply ends. But give us a call with your new electric account information after you move and we will work to transfer your price to your new account.

Q. What happens at the end of my contract?

A. When your contract is coming to an end, FirstEnergy Solutions will provide a competitive renewal price along with all of your options. We want to keep serving you.

Q. Will this affect my billing?

A. No. You will continue to receive one bill from your utility. This bill will include the charge for electric generation from FirstEnergy Solutions. And you can still pay your bill exactly the same way you pay today, even if you have automatic billing from your checking account.

Q. Is all of this too good to be true?

A. There’s no catch. You really can lock in a low electric generation price for years. And you’ll keep that low price regardless if electricity prices rise as they are forecast to do.
